Clifford Smith Jr., born March 2, 1971, is better known as Method Man, an American rapper, record producer, and actor. He gained fame as a member of the influential Wu-Tang Clan and formed the acclaimed duo Method Man and Redman. His solo debut, Tical, reached number four on the Billboard 200 and featured the Grammy-winning single with Mary J. Blige, "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By." Beyond music, Method Man has had notable roles in films like How High and Belly, and has appeared in series including The Wire, Oz, and Power Book II: Ghost. His stage name pays tribute to the classic martial arts film Method Man.
