Ann Peebles is an American soul singer and songwriter known for her influential work in Memphis during the 1970s with Hi Records. She achieved major success with hits like I Can't Stand the Rain and I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down. In recognition of her impact on music, she was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
