The Black Dahlia Murder is a melodic death metal band from Waterford, Michigan, formed in 2001. Named after the infamous 1947 murder case of Elizabeth Short, they are known for their intense sound and relentless energy. Over the years, the band has seen several lineup changes, with Brian Eschbach taking over as lead vocalist and Ryan Knight returning on guitar after the passing of founding frontman Trevor Strnad in 2022. With a string of successful releases on Metal Blade Records, including their acclaimed album Ritual, the band has become a standout act in American extreme metal. Their latest album, Servitude, was released in September 2024.
