Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit was a Scottish indie rock band that originated in Selkirk in 2003, beginning as the solo project of singer and guitarist Scott Hutchison. The group later expanded to include Grant Hutchison on drums, Billy Kennedy on guitar and bass, Andy Monaghan on guitar and keyboards, and Simon Liddell on guitar. After relocating to Glasgow in 2004, they released their debut album Sing the Greys in 2006, followed by the critically acclaimed The Midnight Organ Fight in 2008. Over the years, Frightened Rabbit gained a dedicated following for their emotionally charged songwriting and raw, anthemic sound. The band continued to evolve with albums like The Winter of Mixed Drinks in 2010 and Pedestrian Verse in 2013, the latter reaching the UK top ten. In 2016, they released Painting of a Panic Attack, produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. The group was known for its compelling live performances and honest lyricism. Following the death of Scott Hutchison in 2018, the band ceased activity, though its music remains influential in the indie rock community. The surviving members have since performed at special tribute events in his honor.
