Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell, born December 18, 2001, is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame with her 2015 debut single Ocean Eyes, written and produced by her brother Finneas O'Connell. Her first EP, Don't Smile at Me, was released in 2017 and achieved international success. Eilish’s debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, came out in 2019 and topped charts in the US and UK, driven by the hit single Bad Guy, which became the first number-one by an artist born in the 21st century on the US Billboard Hot 100. She recorded the James Bond theme No Time to Die, earning her an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Her 2021 album, Happier Than Ever, was also a major commercial success. In 2023, she wrote and performed What Was I Made For for the film Barbie, winning a second Academy Award. Her 2024 album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, received critical acclaim and produced global hits like Lunch and Birds of a Feather. Eilish has won multiple awards, including two Oscars, nine Grammys, and several Guinness World Records. She is the youngest artist to win all four major Grammy categories in one year and the first person born in this century to win an Academy Award. Recognized for her influence, she has been named to the Time 100 and BBC 100 Women lists. Beyond music, Eilish is known for her advocacy on climate change, women’s rights, and gender equality.
