The Yamaha DM3 is a compact Dante-equipped digital mixing console designed for studio recording, live streaming, and live sound applications. Built around a 9-inch multi-touch screen and nine motorized faders with "Turn & Touch" rotary encoder control, it delivers professional-grade workflow in a portable form factor weighing just 6.5 kg.

Inputs and Outputs

The DM3 provides 16 mic/line inputs — 12 via XLR and 4 via XLR/TRS combo — plus 8 balanced XLR outputs. Dante networking adds 16 inputs and 16 outputs over Ethernet, while the 18 × 18 USB 2.0 audio interface operates at 48 kHz or 96 kHz sampling rate, enabling direct multitrack recording to a connected computer.

Mixing Architecture

Input mixing channels total 16 mono, 1 stereo, and 2 FX returns. The bus structure covers 1 Stereo, 6 Mix, 2 FX, and 2 Matrix buses with support for Input-to-Matrix routing — making the DM3 equally capable as a front-of-house or monitor mixing desk.

Processing and Effects

Eighteen onboard effects — including reverb, delay, and modulation types — are complemented by a graphic EQ available on Mix 1–6 and the Stereo bus. QuickPro presets provide ready-made settings for common microphones and output devices, speeding up setup at the venue.

Connectivity

Beyond Dante and USB, the DM3 features an RJ-45 network port for remote control, a USB Type-A port for direct recording to flash storage, and a 4-pin XLR DC power input. An optional rack mounting kit (RK-DM3) allows integration into a standard 19" rack.
