Shining is a black metal band from Sweden, founded in Halmstad in 1996 by Niklas Kvarforth. Known for their dark and aggressive sound, the band blends depressive atmospheres with progressive elements and often explores personal and suicide-related themes in their lyrics. The music is mainly written by Kvarforth, whose controversial actions have garnered attention over the years. Shining has released eleven studio albums.
