Mac Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, was an influential American rapper from Pittsburgh who began making music as a teenager. Rising to prominence with his mixtapes K.I.D.S. and Best Day Ever, he made history when his debut album Blue Slide Park became the first independent debut to top the Billboard 200 in over 15 years. Miller later founded REMember Music and released acclaimed albums including GO:OD AM, The Divine Feminine, and Swimming, the last earning a posthumous Grammy nomination. Known for his introspective lyrics, he also produced music as Larry Fisherman. Miller’s career was marked by creative growth and honesty, but was tragically cut short by his death in 2018 at age 26.
