The Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass is an electric bass guitar from the legendary Fender company from the Artist series, made on the basis of the signature model of the famous English bassist Tony Franklin. This model of the first ever electric bass guitar continues the tradition based on simplicity, innovation and the greatest possible comfort for players, which has been going on since the first half of the 50s. The bass guitar offers the best of the instrument's past and present, such as classic tone, performance, irresistible looks and design, but also modern elements and modifications, making it an ideal instrument for today's musicians. The body of the instrument with a classic Precision Bass shape is made of selected alder wood. The comfortable maple neck with a modern C shape is fitted with a fretless ebony fingerboard. The length of the scale is 34" (864mm) and the width of the zero fret is 1.62" (41.3mm). The guitar is equipped with two special Tony Franklin Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups with Hex Screw Pole Pieces and a ceramic magnet at the bridge and a Tony Franklin American Split Single-Coil Precision Bass at the neck. The hardware includes a 4-piece American Vintage Bass bridge with a Single-Groove Steel "Barrel" bridge and a special Fender '70s Vintage-Style Stamped Open-Gear tuning machine with a Hipshot Bass Xtender "Drop D" on the E string. Controls consist of a 3-way rocker switch, Master Tone and Master Volume controls. The bass guitar is made with a Black finish.
