Fender John 5 Ghost Telecaster Arctic White Guitarra elétrica

Fender John 5 Ghost Telecaster White — A Custom Shop Signature Built for Supernatural Playing

The Fender John 5 Ghost Telecaster White is a limited Custom Shop signature model designed in collaboration with one of the most versatile guitarists in modern rock. Its top-bound Nyatoh body and one-piece maple neck wear an Arctic White gloss urethane finish accented by red binding and a mirrored chrome pickguard. DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers feed a performance-oriented control set with a 3-way toggle and arcade-style kill switch for stutter effects. John 5's supernatural command over the fretboard — from sweep arpeggios to breakneck bluegrass runs — shaped every decision on this instrument. The result is a Telecaster like no other, with red appointments, mirrored chrome hardware, and a stage-ready aesthetic that rewards aggressive playing.

What Sets the John 5 Ghost Apart from a Standard Telecaster

Unlike a traditional Telecaster, this signature model swaps the classic single-coil layout for a full DiMarzio D Activator humbucker set, delivering harmonically rich modern crunch suited to heavy rock and metal. The one-piece mirrored chrome pickguard and control plate flow seamlessly across the body — a detail John 5 specifically requested so his picking hand never feels the seam between two separate pieces. An arcade-style kill switch and upper-bout 3-way toggle enable rapid-fire stutter effects and swift pickup switching mid-performance, while red binding, red tuner washers, a red nut, and red fretboard dots tie the entire aesthetic together.

Nyatoh Body with Top Binding — Balanced Resonance and Stage-Ready Aesthetics

The body is crafted from Nyatoh, a tonewood prized for balanced midrange and comfortable weight, then finished in gloss urethane for a durable, glassy surface that holds up to nightly gigging. Top binding — a nod to the early-1960s Telecaster Custom — frames the body in striking red, while the Arctic White gloss creates the "Ghost" look that defines this model. The mirrored chrome pickguard doubles as a visual centrepiece and a functional control plate, keeping the master volume and kill switch within easy reach.

• Body Material: Nyatoh — balanced midrange and lighter weight than many traditional tonewoods
• Body Finish: Gloss Urethane — durable, glassy surface that resists wear from arm contact and belt buckles
• Pickguard: 1-Ply Mirrored Chrome — seamless one-piece design that doubles as a control plate

One-Piece Maple Neck with Custom John 5 Profile — Speed and Stability

A one-piece maple neck with a Custom John 5 Medium "C" profile gives this Telecaster a fast, comfortable feel suited to chord work and extended lead playing. The maple fingerboard features a 9.5" radius (241 mm) — a modern compromise that flatters both chord shapes and bending — and 22 Narrow Tall frets that give clean note articulation under aggressive picking. The satin urethane neck finish keeps the back of the neck slick during long sets, while the gloss urethane headstock face maintains the model's polished aesthetic.

• Neck Material: Maple (one-piece) — bright tonal character and rock-solid stability
• Fingerboard Radius: 241 mm (9.5") — versatile curvature for chords, bends, and lead lines
• Scale Length: 648 mm (25.5") — classic Fender tension and attack
• Frets: 22 Narrow Tall — precise note separation for fast runs and bending

DiMarzio D Activator Pickups and Performance Controls — High-Gain Authority

The HH pickup configuration pairs two DiMarzio D Activator humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — delivering harmonically rich modern crunch that handles everything from clean arpeggios to saturated metal riffs. A 3-way toggle mounted on the upper bout allows swift pickup switching without taking the picking hand off the strings, while the pickguard-mounted master volume and arcade-style kill switch enable rapid-fire stutter effects. The 6-saddle string-through Tele bridge with block steel saddles anchors tuning stability and intonation, and deluxe cast/sealed locking tuners with red washers keep the guitar in tune through heavy whammy-bar use and aggressive picking.

• Pickups: DiMarzio D Activator (neck and bridge) — high-output humbucking tone with modern crunch
• Controls: Master volume, 3-way toggle, kill switch — performance-oriented layout for fast switching and stutter effects
• Bridge: 6-Saddle String-Through Tele with Block Steel Saddles — precise intonation and string anchoring
• Tuning Machines: Deluxe Cast/Sealed Locking — rock-solid tuning stability under aggressive playing

The Right Guitar for John 5 Fans, Shredders, and Custom Shop Collectors

This signature Telecaster is the right choice for players who want a Custom Shop instrument with a visual identity that stands out on any stage. It suits guitarists who lean into heavy rock, metal, country-inflected shred, and experimental genres — exactly the territory John 5 has covered across his career with Rob Zombie, Mötley Crüe, David Lee Roth, and Alice Cooper. The kill switch and upper-bout toggle make it a natural fit for players who use pickup switching and stutter effects as part of their lead vocabulary, while the locking tuners and string-through bridge appeal to anyone who demands tuning stability during aggressive performances. Collectors will appreciate the limited production run, the Certificate of Authenticity, and the custom white tolex hardshell case with crushed red interior and John 5 Ghost embroidery.

John 5 and the Ghost Telecaster — A Signature Born from Obsession

John 5's love affair with the Telecaster began at age seven, when he saw the instrument on the television show Hee Haw and decided all electric guitars looked like that shape. That early obsession carried him through stints with Rob Zombie, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Mötley Crüe, Rod Stewart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and KD Lang, building a reputation as one of the most genre-defying guitarists of his generation. The Ghost Telecaster was inspired by a Fender x Supreme collaboration that caught his eye — he approached Fender with the idea of a white Telecaster with red binding and appointments, then road-tested the prototype for a full year before approving production. Limited to a small run and shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity, the Ghost is positioned as a future cult classic in the Custom Shop catalogue.
