The Pacifica series was born in Yamaha's Custom Shop in Hollywood in the early '90s with the idea in mind to create a line of electric guitars that could offer amateur and advanced guitarists maximum quality for an affordable price. It was an instant success, and the Pacifica 122, the entry-level model, became the best-selling guitar of the series. The Pacifica 120H is modelled after this popular beginner's guitar. It's equipped with two humbucker pickups instead of one humbucker and two single-coils, and the tremolo has been replaced with a fixed hardtail bridge. This is the Vintage White edition, but the Pacifica 120H is also available in black, sunburst and natural.
Qualities of the Yamaha Pacifica 120H VW The famous Yamaha quality of the Pacifica 120H can't just be seen, but also felt and heard. This guitar has a solid alder body, an option that you'll usually only find in much more expensive price classes. Alder is known for being rich in sound, with outstanding balance between lows, mids and highs. The strong, stable maple neck is easy to play thanks to its comfortable thin profile and is equipped with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard. With a radius of almost 14 inches, the fretboard is made for playing fast riffs and flawless bends, making this guitar ideal for beginning shredders like you!
Double humbuckers with Coil Tap function The Yamaha Pacifica 120H is equipped with two Alnico 5 humbucker pickups that deliver a fuller, more lively sound than single-coils. The output is also higher, making these pickups very well suited for rougher work such as high-gain distortions that you hear in hard rock and metal. Just turn down the gain on your amp for clear yet deep cleans. And if you do want the single-coil sparkle and bite, all you have to do is pull out the tone knob to activate the coil-tap function which splits the humbuckers to single-coil for a thinner, tighter sound that's perfect for country, funk and blues. The Pacifica 120 H is a versatile electric guitar made to perform time after time!
