Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band from Victoria, British Columbia, formed in 2017 by guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante. Joined by drummer Zev Rose and bassist Josh Gilbert, the group is known for blending metalcore and progressive metal with electronic influences. After leaving Iwrestledabearonce, LaPlante and Stringer started Spiritbox to pursue greater creative freedom. They first gained attention online with singles and music videos before transitioning to live performances in 2020. Their debut album Eternal Blue achieved critical and commercial success, reaching number thirteen on the US Billboard 200. Spiritbox releases music through Pale Chord in partnership with Rise Records and continues to evolve their sound with releases like Rotoscope, The Fear of Fear, and the 2025 album Tsunami Sea.
