Roland RP107-BKX Piano digital

Roland RP107-BKX Digital Piano — Authentic Grand Feel in a Compact Home Cabinet

The Roland RP107-BKX is an 88-key home digital piano designed for students, families, and returning players who want genuine acoustic-piano expression without the cost or maintenance of an upright. Built around the same SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine that powers Roland's higher-end home models, this slim cabinet instrument pairs expressive tone with a weighted keyboard action that responds to every nuance of touch. Onboard Bluetooth, USB connectivity, and the companion Roland Piano App turn this model into a complete learning workstation for any room in the house.

Standout Features That Set the RP107-BKX Apart

What makes this model stand out in the entry-tier home piano segment is Roland's proprietary Behavioral Modeling Chip, which drives the SuperNATURAL Piano engine and reproduces the complex tonal behavior of an acoustic grand. The PHA-4 Standard keyboard is the same action found in Roland's premium HP702, complete with escapement feel and Ivory Feel key surfaces. TwinPiano mode splits the keyboard into two identical ranges with independent sound control, while dual headphone jacks (3.5 mm and 1/4-inch) let two players practise silently at any hour.

Sound Engine and Polyphony — Class-Leading Tone at This Price

The sound engine is the heart of any digital piano, and the RP107-BKX inherits Roland's flagship SuperNATURAL Piano technology rather than a stripped-down alternative. High polyphony ensures the instrument sustains dense classical passages, layered chords, and heavy pedal use without notes cutting off mid-phrase.

• Piano Sound Engine: SuperNATURAL Piano — sampling and modeling reproduce the dynamic behavior of an acoustic grand
• Max. Polyphony: 256 voices — enough headroom for advanced repertoire and sustained pedal work
• Total Tones: 324 (15 from front panel, full library via Roland Piano App) — broad palette beyond the basic piano sounds
• The Headphones 3D Ambience effect is built-in, providing spatial depth through headphones for late-night practice.

Keyboard and Pedals — Real Acoustic Touch

The keyboard and pedal assembly determine whether a digital piano can build proper technique, and the RP107-BKX is engineered for that goal. Weighted keys with escapement and Ivory Feel surfaces mirror the response of a real grand, while three integrated pedals support the full range of classical pedaling.

• Keyboard: PHA-4 Standard with Escapement and Ivory Feel, 88 keys — weighted, velocity-sensitive, fast repetition
• Pedals: Damper, Soft, Sostenuto (continuous detection) — half-pedaling and sostenuto supported
• Touch Sensitivity: 5 types plus fixed touch — adapts to any learning stage or repertoire

Connectivity, Speakers, and Cabinet — Modern Convenience

Built-in Bluetooth, USB ports, and a stereo speaker system let the RP107-BKX integrate with phones, tablets, computers, and flash drives without extra hardware. The slim traditional cabinet fits smaller rooms and includes a sliding lid to protect the keys.

• Bluetooth: Ver 4.2, A2DP audio + GATT MIDI — wireless streaming and app control from iOS/Android
• Speakers: 12 cm x 2, 8 W x 2 rated output — full-range onboard monitoring
• Connectors: USB B (computer), USB A (flash drive), 2 x Phones (3.5 mm + 1/4-inch), DC In — flexible wired options
• The physical dimensions are 1378 x 410 x 982 mm and the total weight is 37 kg, allowing for a slim footprint and easy portability.

Who the Roland RP107-BKX Is For

The Roland RP107-BKX is the right choice for beginner and intermediate students, families, and returning adults who need an authentic weighted-action piano with modern learning tools at an accessible price. Piano teachers benefit from TwinPiano mode and dual headphone jacks that allow side-by-side lessons without disturbing the rest of the household. Parents investing in a first instrument for a child will appreciate the Roland Piano App, which adds flashcards, rhythm exercises, the One Week Master program, and access to 377 onboard songs including Burgmüller, Hanon, and Czerny études. Players who want Bluetooth audio streaming for play-along with tutorials or favorite tracks will find the wireless setup immediate and reliable.

Roland's Digital Piano Heritage

Roland's pursuit of the ultimate electronic piano began soon after the company was founded in 1972, and decades of sound-engine and keyboard research feed directly into every model in the current lineup. The RP107-BKX inherits technology from the premium HP series, bringing flagship behavior to a compact, family-friendly cabinet. For students who may eventually step up to a higher-tier Roland home piano, the RP107-BKX provides a consistent playing foundation from day one.
