The NUX Tape Echo is a digital delay pedal that pays tribute to the Japanese-made Space Echo from 1974, capturing the wow, flutter, and saturation of magnetic tape without real-tape maintenance. Core-Image technology emulates the original's capstan-driven tape loop, including its characteristic noise floor and gentle pitch drift. This model is the right choice for guitarists who want vintage tape character with modern reliability.

What Sets the NUX Tape Echo Apart

Seven Repro-Tape Head combinations deliver everything from tight slapback to long, drifting repeats, while a parallel spring reverb engine recreates the original unit's lush ambience. SOS mode turns the pedal into a 40-second stereo phrase looper with an OLED status display, and holding the ON footswitch engages self-feedback for runaway oscillation.

Audio Performance

A 48 kHz sampling engine with 32-bit A/D conversion delivers a frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz (±1 dB) and a dynamic range of 103 dBu (105 dBu A-weighted). System latency sits at 1 ms, with THD+N of 0.0038% at 1 Vrms input.
