Gucci Mane, born Radric Delantic Davis on February 12, 1980, is an American rapper widely recognized for bringing trap music into the mainstream alongside fellow Atlanta artists T I and Jeezy. He emerged in the mid 2000s with his debut album Trap House, followed by Hard to Kill and Back to the Trap House. His breakthrough came with The State vs Radric Davis in 2009, featuring the hit single Lemonade. After a brief incarceration, he returned with Everybody Looking in 2016 and scored his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 as a guest on Rae Sremmurd's Black Beatles. Since launching his career, Gucci Mane has released sixteen studio albums and over seventy mixtapes. In 2007, he founded 1017 Records, helping launch the careers of artists like Young Thug, Waka Flocka Flame, Chief Keef, and Pooh Shiesty. Known for his influence in shaping Atlanta’s music scene, Gucci Mane has collaborated with artists across genres, including Drake, The Weeknd, Mariah Carey, and Usher. His impact earned him a Grammy nomination in 2020 and a reputation as one of the most influential underground rappers of the 2000s.
