Legacy and Features:
- The UB-Xa embraces the legacy of the original OB-Xa synthesizer, which contributed to iconic hits in the 80s by artists like Rush’s Geddy Lee, The Police, Prince, Van Halen, and even the Terminator theme composed by Brad Fiedel.
- It retains the original OB-Xa’s growl and sizzle while adding modern features like velocity and after-touch sensitivity, 512 user program memories, and comprehensive MIDI implementation.
Sound Engine:
- The UB-Xa features 16 voices with 2 VCOs per voice and oscillator sync mode.
- Its VCOs and VCFs are heavily based on the original 3340 and 3320 chip designs, ensuring authentic sound.
- You can split the keyboard to layer two different sounds, allowing for massive riffs.
Keyboard and Controls:
- The synth comes with 61 full-sized, semi-weighted keys with polyphonic after-touch and velocity sensitivity.
